Fucoidan is a naturally occurring compound extracted from brown seaweed.
It has attracted global attention as a functional ingredient that supports everyday health and wellness.

From a scientific perspective, fucoidan is a type of polysaccharide composed of multiple sugar chains.
It is naturally found in brown seaweeds such as kelp, wakame, and mozuku.
In its natural environment, fucoidan plays an essential role in protecting seaweed from drying out and external damage.
It acts as a protective substance that helps seaweed survive harsh conditions such as strong sunlight and physical stress.

The amount of fucoidan varies depending on the type of seaweed and its growing environment. Among various brown seaweeds, mozuku is known to contain an especially high concentration of fucoidan.
Mozuku grows in shallow coastal waters compared to mekabu and kelp.
Because it is exposed to stronger sunlight, mozuku naturally produces a higher level of fucoidan as a form of self-protection.

Fucoidan is a polysaccharide made up of multiple sugar components connected
In natural mozuku fucoidan, these components remain connected in their original form. However, in low molecular weight fucoidan, this structure is broken down during processing.
When the structure is altered, some of fucoidan’s original characteristics may be reduced. For this reason, when choosing a fucoidan product, high molecular weight fucoidan is generally preferred.

For example, in the case of the mozuku fucoidan Has the above structure
